Police dismantle drug stalls in Kampung Ambon-Boncos, 28 held
Six stalls in Kampung Boncos were burned and Bareskrim is now tracking a suspected major supplier behind both areas.
Joint authorities expanded a drug crackdown at two West Jakarta locations, Kampung Ambon in Cengkareng and Kampung Boncos in Palmerah. After 24 people were arrested in simultaneous raids on 9 October, police returned to Kampung Boncos on 12 October and arrested four more men. At the site, officers burned six semi-permanent stalls that were allegedly used for narcotics transactions. In Kampung Ambon, Polres Metro Jakarta Barat on 13 October also tore down dozens of stalls along the riverbank on Jalan Kristal Ujung. Evidence seized in the series of operations included methamphetamine, marijuana, bong, cangklong, electronic scales, sharp weapons and cash. Bareskrim Polri said investigators are tracing whether the trafficking in the two areas is linked to one supply network.
