Kemenkeu tightens MBG budget oversight to local level
As of end-Q2 2026, MBG spending reached Rp101,1 trillion for 63,13 million beneficiaries.
The Ministry of Finance is tightening oversight of the Makan Bergizi Gratis budget by using the regional office network of the Directorate General of Treasury down to the regency and city level. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said DJPb personnel have already surveyed Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi in various regions to monitor the program's operational and financial aspects. Reports received so far show MBG is generally running well, but many shortcomings remain and vary by location. The findings will be reported to the Badan Gizi Nasional for follow-up. Purbaya also said he has not yet met the new BGN head, Sudaryono, because the agency is still consolidating. By the end of the second quarter of 2026, MBG budget realization had reached Rp101,1 trillion, with 63,13 million beneficiaries.
