Task force speeds permanent recovery from Sumatera disaster with Rp100.1 trillion
Only 5 ministries and agencies have received budgets so far, while regions are urged to use the Rp10.6 trillion in TKD already disbursed.
The Task Force for Accelerating Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sumatera has asked ministries, agencies and local governments to speed up permanent recovery in Aceh, Sumatera Utara and Sumatera Barat. The government has prepared Rp100.1 trillion for 2026-2028, with Rp38.9 trillion allocated in 2026, Rp32.9 trillion in 2027 and Rp28.2 trillion in 2028. As of 17 June 2026, five ministries and agencies have received rehabilitation and reconstruction budgets: Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum, Kementerian Perhubungan, Kementerian Sosial, Kementerian Kesehatan and Badan Pusat Statistik. PRR task force head Tito Karnavian also asked regional governments to immediately use the additional Rp10.6 trillion in regional transfer funds that have been disbursed since early May 2026.
