Prabowo receives lifetime KartaNU at NU congress closing

President Prabowo Subianto received a Nahdlatul Ulama membership card, or KartaNU, valid for life at the closing of NU's 35th congress at Pondok Pesantren Bahrul Ulum in Jombang, East Java, on Monday (31/8). The card was handed over after the remarks by Rais Aam for the 2026-2031 term, KH Miftahul Achyar. Also on stage were newly elected PBNU chairman Abdul Hakim Mahfudz, also known as Gus Kikin, outgoing PBNU chairman Yahya Cholil Staquf, and PBNU secretary general Saifullah Yusuf, also known as Gus Ipul. Prabowo said he came to fulfill a promise after hearing that his membership card was ready. At the opening of the congress on 27 August, he had joked that he had long asked for KartaNU and would return for the closing if the card was issued.
