Poland marks 2 days of mourning after Krakow shooting kills 6

Flags flew at half-staff and entertainment events were canceled as the wounded attacker was hospitalized under guard.

Poland declared national mourning on November 8-9 after a shooting in central Krakow killed six people. The office of President Karol Nawrocki said the decree applies nationwide, with the national flag to be flown at half-staff. Several state media outlets adjusted their programming, while a range of entertainment events were canceled in tribute to the victims. Police said the attacker opened fire from a moving car around Krakow's main square on Saturday afternoon. At least 15 people were wounded, including two police officers, and five foreign nationals were among the injured. The suspect was arrested after being shot by police and is now being treated in hospital.
