Pertamina adds 40 tanker trucks after driver sanctions in Medan

Fuel demand in Medan has risen 5%-10%; July 14 distribution reached 104% of the daily target.

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga imposed sanctions on tanker drivers found to have violated operating rules in Sumatera Utara, while adding vehicles to maintain fuel supply in Medan. The company said distribution to gas stations in Medan has returned to normal and stocks are safe. Fuel consumption in the area in recent days has risen about 5%-10% from the daily average as schools and offices resume activity. To speed distribution, Pertamina added 10 operational tanker trucks and 30 spot charter tanker trucks, along with 34 tanker crew members from the nearest fuel terminal and 16 Bekangdam personnel. On 14 July 2026, distribution realization was said to reach 104% of the daily target, with 149 tanker trucks operating.
