Paskibraka for 81st RI Independence Day to be sworn in Aug. 15 in Jakarta
A rough rehearsal is underway, including an air demonstration involving about 81 aircraft and helicopters around the Istana area.
The inauguration of the Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka for the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence is scheduled for Aug. 15, 2026, in Jakarta. State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said the event is part of preparations ahead of the Aug. 17 ceremony. On Aug. 12, preparations at Istana Merdeka had entered the rough rehearsal stage from 08.00 WIB, including practice for an air demonstration involving about 81 aircraft and helicopters. The government is also reviewing maneuver coordinates so the display will be seen clearly from the main podium where President Prabowo Subianto and guests will watch the ceremony. For the Paskibraka, trainers asked for extra practice because the thick grass in the Istana yard differs from the hard fields they have used for training.
