Warga Desa Kandang decorate 3 km of road for 81st RI Day

Residents of Warga Desa Kandang, Comal District, Pemalang Regency, Central Java, have decorated about three kilometers of village road with themed lights ahead of the 81st anniversary of RI Independence Day. Together with the Warga Desa Kandang village administration, they installed ornaments shaped like Garuda, Jembatan Suramadu, Tugu Monas and several animals. The installations are being put up throughout August with funding from community donations. At night, the line of lights makes the village road livelier and a gathering point for nearby residents. The crowds have also drawn interest from hundreds of UMKM vendors, who have been selling along the area, turning the village decoration tradition into not only an Independence Day celebration but also a boost for the local economy.
