DKI reroutes traffic for 81st Independence Day, 500 deployed
The diversion around Monas is situational from 07.30-11.30 WIB and 16.30-23.00 WIB, with 21 parking areas ready.
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency has put situational traffic management in place on several roads around Monas and the Presidential Palace on Monday, 17 August, for the series of events marking the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency head Budi Awaluddin said about 500 officers have been deployed to manage vehicle flow during the Kirab Bendera Pusaka, the morning ceremony, Pesta Rakyat, and the evening celebration and decorated vehicle parade.
Affected roads include Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Jalan Veteran I, II, and III, and the east side of Jalan Majapahit. Diversions for the procession and ceremony will apply from 07.30-11.30 WIB and 16.30-18.30 WIB, while Pesta Rakyat will run from 08.00-23.00 WIB. Residents traveling from Harmoni, Tugu Tani, Bundaran HI, Karet, and Tanah Abang are asked to use alternative routes and follow officers' directions.
