Prabowo raises TNI and Defense Ministry allowances via 2 new decrees

President Prabowo Subianto raised performance allowances for employees in the TNI and the Ministry of Defense through Presidential Regulation No. 42 and 43 of 2026. The two rules replace Presidential Decrees 102 and 104 of 2018, which were considered no longer in line with civil service reform results. In the TNI, the service chiefs now receive Rp48.61 million a month, up from about Rp37.81 million. The TNI chief of general staff and deputy service chiefs receive Rp44.87 million, compared with Rp34.9 million previously. In the Ministry of Defense, job grade 17 or echelon I receives Rp37.3 million from Rp29 million. Employees in job grades 1 and 2 also rise to Rp2.5 million and Rp2.9 million a month.
