Iran attacks U.S. bases in Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait

Jordan intercepted four missiles and Kuwait reported engaging hostile air targets as the U.S.-Iran conflict spread across the Gulf.

Iran launched fresh attacks on U.S. military facilities in the Middle East, this time targeting Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan, a U.S. drone command center in Bahrain, and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait on 13 July. IRNA quoted Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as saying the strikes were retaliation for a new wave of U.S. attacks on Iran. Jordan's military said its air defenses intercepted and shot down four missiles that came from the direction of Iran, with no casualties or damage. Kuwait's Armed Forces also said they were confronting and intercepting hostile air targets. A day later, the IRGC said the attack on Jordan was aimed only at the U.S. base and urged Amman to shut American military facilities to avoid being drawn further into the war.
