Iran Attack Shuts Kuwait Airport, Injures Several

Kuwait suspended air traffic and diverted flights after Terminal 1 was heavily damaged.

Drone and missile attacks from Iran struck the passenger terminal at Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday (3/6), injuring several people and forcing a temporary halt to air traffic. Kuwait's General Civil Aviation Authority said the T1 building sustained severe damage, while the injured received medical treatment. Kuwait's Ministry of Defense described the attack as Iranian aggression. Earlier reports said Kuwait air defenses intercepted projectiles headed toward its territory. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) also said Iranian missiles launched at Kuwait and Bahrain missed or were intercepted. On the other side, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the attack on U.S. military facilities in Kuwait was retaliation for strikes on Iranian oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz. The escalation came as Washington and Tehran were still holding talks after the April 8 ceasefire.
