Herdman praises Mitchell Baker after Indonesian citizenship ahead of AFF Cup

Indonesia national team coach John Herdman praised Mitchell Baker's performance at training camp at the Bali United Training Center in Gianyar, Bali, ahead of the 2026 AFF Cup. According to Herdman, the 19-year-old has consistently tried to score in every training session and has shown strong commitment after officially becoming an Indonesian citizen. Baker was sworn in as an Indonesian citizen on July 13 and now adds another attacking option for Skuad Garuda. He was born in Melbourne on December 11, 2006 and has Indonesian heritage through his mother, Maureen Lee Baker, whose family roots are in Yogyakarta and Semarang. In the second phase of the training camp, Baker joined 22 other players for physical and tactical sessions in Gianyar.
