Gibran joins UI students for trauma care in Sikka

He also inspected the shelter at Gelora Samador Stadium and checked a public kitchen serving earthquake survivors in Maumere.

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka joined six students from the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Indonesia to provide trauma care for children displaced at Gelora Samador Stadium, Sikka Regency, Nusa Tenggara Timur, on Thursday. The visit was part of a review of earthquake response efforts in NTT and an effort to ensure residents' urgent needs were met. At the Maumere shelter, children took part in games and Q&A sessions as an initial step in psychological recovery. Gibran also met volunteers at a public kitchen preparing meals for the displaced. As part of the working visit, he is scheduled to inspect affected areas and basic services in Sikka, Manggarai and Manggarai Timur.
