Day 6, TNI AU sends aid and medevac to isolated NTT
A H225M Caracal landed on Pulau Palue, home to about 3,600 people, while CN-235 mapped remaining safe overland routes.
TNI Angkatan Udara intensified air operations on the sixth day of earthquake response in Nusa Tenggara Timur on Friday (21/8) to deliver supplies and evacuate residents from isolated areas. One main target was Pulau Palue, home to about 3,600 people and difficult to reach because land and sea access were cut off. Using a H225M Caracal helicopter, TNI AU delivered staple goods and bathing supplies directly to the island. At the same time, a CN-235 aircraft from Lanud Abdulrachman Saleh was flown for aerial photography to map the latest conditions in affected areas and trace the remaining overland routes that were still safe. The operation was carried out with TNI AD, TNI AL, Polri, Basarnas, and BNPB, with the next targets including Kabupaten Manggarai and Pulau Pantar.
