Bahlil threatens 3x24-hour legal notice over Prabowo wiretap claims
He urged police to uncover an alleged meeting before the arrest of generals and challenged the rumor spreaders to prove it.
Bahlil Lahadalia is preparing a legal notice for parties linking him to allegations of illegal wiretapping of President Prabowo Subianto. In Ambon on Saturday, the chairman of Partai Golkar set a 3x24-hour deadline for clarification; if there is none, he will pursue legal action. Bahlil rejected the narrative that a party chairman was at Widya Chandra a few hours before the arrest of suspects by Bareskrim Polri and that the story was directed at him. He also asked police to fully investigate the spreading of the falsehood and to disclose who is alleged to have attended the meeting. Bahlil said he himself has become a target of wiretapping and that the circulating accusations have fueled speculation on social media and in WhatsApp groups.
