47.012 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have arrived, 240 died

Repatriation via Jeddah ends June 15, followed by Madinah flights through June 30; the last group is expected July 1.

A total of 120 groups, or 47.012 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims, have returned home, equal to 22,77 percent of this year’s total pilgrims. Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf said repatriation is still underway from Jeddah Airport until 15 June 2026, then will continue from Madinah from 16 June through 30 June. The last group is expected to arrive in Indonesia on 1 July. The government also noted several reviews during the 2026 Hajj season, especially services in Mina, which were considered the most challenging because of the density of millions of pilgrims. In addition, there were still delays in moving pilgrims during the Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina phase and disruptions when shalawat buses were temporarily stopped. In the health sector, around 240 Indonesian pilgrims died, better than last year but still above the target of 150 people.
