23,365 Indonesian pilgrims returned; Jambi sets brief welcome

56 groups, or 22,172 people, have arrived in Indonesia, while Jambi has barred pickup at the dormitory to prevent crowding.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah continues to oversee the return of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia to the homeland. As of Saturday, 59 groups with 23,129 pilgrims and 236 officers had departed, for a total of 23,365 people. Of that number, 56 groups with 21,948 pilgrims and 224 officers have arrived in Indonesia, totaling 22,172 people. The ministry also recorded that 8,070 participants and officers on the special Hajj program have returned. Ahead of the return flow, pilgrims were asked to keep their passports safe, observe the baggage limit of 7 kilograms for cabin luggage and 32 kilograms for checked baggage, and not place zamzam water in suitcases because it could slow inspection. In Jambi, the regional office of the ministry has prepared a brief welcome plan when Group 13 arrives on 16 June evening. Pilgrims will be quickly moved to their home regions, and families are asked not to pick them up directly at Asrama Haji Jambi to prevent crowding.
