Zelensky puts North Korea troop build-up for Russia at up to 50,000

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia is preparing to deploy an additional 30,000 to 50,000 North Korean troops on its territory to support Moscow’s war effort, a higher estimate than Kyiv gave in July. He also said Russia had received more ballistic missiles from Pyongyang and that some North Korean missiles had been found in Ukraine. Zelensky did not provide evidence or a timeline for the troop figure. A Ukrainian military intelligence official separately told Reuters that North Korean missile units had begun moving into western Russia, possibly with 120 ballistic missiles and six launchers. Kyiv is urging South Korea and Japan to expand air defense support as Russian missile attacks intensify.
