WSJ: Musk ordered October Starlink slowdown for Ukraine military
What's new: The report said the slowdown disrupted Ukrainian drone attacks and air defense missions against Russia.
Elon Musk ordered a slowdown in October of the military-grade Starlink service used by Ukraine’s armed forces, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing US officials and other people familiar with the matter. Ukraine depends on the SpaceX satellite network for battlefield communications and drone operations, and the reported throttling hindered attack and air defense drone missions against Russia. The Journal said Musk discussed the decision with President Donald Trump before and after it became public. Reuters said it could not independently verify the report. In Oslo, President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had raised the Starlink issue with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and that service "needs to be restored."
