Widow of man killed on SQ321 files UK lawsuit against Singapore Airlines

Linda Kitchen, whose husband Geoffrey Kitchen died after severe turbulence struck Singapore Airlines flight SQ321 in May 2024, has filed a damages claim against the carrier in Britain's High Court. Kitchen, 74, says she suffered serious spinal injuries when the London-to-Singapore flight dropped sharply over Myanmar, forcing an emergency landing in Bangkok. Court papers reported by British media show two claims from the family: one by Kitchen and another brought in her name on behalf of her husband's estate. Records also show several other passengers pursuing claims. A 2026 final report by Singapore's Transport Safety Investigation Bureau found the turbulence was convectively induced; Geoffrey Kitchen died from heart failure and pulmonary oedema.
