Widow of man killed on SIA SQ321 files UK lawsuit over turbulence

The widow of a British passenger who died after severe turbulence hit Singapore Airlines flight SQ321 has filed a lawsuit against the carrier in Britain, seeking damages for spinal injuries she suffered in the incident. Linda Kitchen, 74, began proceedings in the High Court, while a separate claim was also filed on behalf of her husband Geoffrey Kitchen’s estate, British media reported. Flight SQ321 was traveling from London to Singapore on May 21, 2024, when it plunged over Myanmar and diverted to Bangkok for an emergency landing. Geoffrey Kitchen, 73, died on the flight, and 79 people were injured. Court records cited by British media also show several other passengers pursuing claims against the airline.
