Jogja Marathon video of Danrem dispute goes viral, Korem account privatized
The Army said the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding after marshals stopped an aide whose bib was believed to have come loose.
A video of a dispute between Danrem 072/Pamungkas Brigjen Yuniar Dwi Hantono and marshals at the Mandiri Jogja Marathon 2026 went viral after the race near Candi Prambanan, Sleman, on Sunday (21/6). After heavy criticism from netizens, the Instagram account of Korem 072/Pamungkas was set to private. Korem and the Indonesian Army said the incident began when Yuniar's aide was stopped by course officials for entering the race area without a visible bib. According to Korem's explanation, Yuniar, his wife, his child and his aide were registered as participants with four general tickets, but the aide's bib was believed to have come loose on the crowded course. Republika also reported that netizens highlighted bib C35602 worn by Yuniar because it was listed under another person's name.
