Ukraine hits 2 Russian oil refineries, sparking fires overnight

Ukraine's military said it struck the Ilsky and Syzran oil refineries in Russia overnight, igniting fires at both sites as Kyiv kept up its campaign against Russian energy assets. Local authorities in Russia's Krasnodar region said a fire at the Ilsky refinery was later extinguished and blamed debris from a Ukrainian drone. Samara region Gov. Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said drones targeted an industrial facility there, without naming it. Ukraine's general staff said the operation also damaged the Syvash oil and gas drilling observation post in the Black Sea. The Ilsky refinery can process more than 6 million metric tons of oil a year; Syzran can process 8.5 million. Russia's Defense Ministry said air defenses destroyed 397 Ukrainian drones overnight.
