UEFA kept open the possibility of a boycott of FIFA competitions after Gianni Infantino apologized for mistakes tied to a failed plan to sell stakes in major tournaments to private investors. European soccer's governing body said FIFA's public show of support for Infantino after a Rabat meeting "changes nothing" because its conditions have not been met. UEFA said the sell-off proposal was withdrawn, but FIFA has not guaranteed that similar attempts will not happen again. The English FA has also withdrawn its support for Infantino. The dispute centers on the scrapped FIFA Forward Enterprise plan, which would have brought private investment into competitions including the men's and women's World Cups.
