The United States and Iran signed a 14-point memorandum of understanding to end the war, with digital signatures from President Donald Trump and President Masoud Pezeshkian. The document, referred to as the “MoU Islamabad,” was confirmed by Washington and Tehran and mediated by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. According to the released details, the agreement extends the ceasefire by 60 days, halts military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, and opens the way for negotiations toward a permanent peace accord. The text also calls for reopening commercial shipping from the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman through the Strait of Hormuz and sets a maximum 60-day deadline to agree on a final deal. Iran said the English and Farsi text took effect on Wednesday, June 17.
