TrumpRx adds 160 medicines, pushing discount list past 800

Why it matters: The administration says the program now covers roughly four of every five U.S. prescriptions and includes some weight-loss, diabetes and HIV drugs.

President Donald Trump expanded the TrumpRx prescription discount program on Friday, adding 160 medicines and bringing the total list to more than 800. The administration says the website, TrumpRx.gov, lets patients search eligible drugs, compare estimated savings and generate coupons for participating prescriptions. The program grew out of agreements with 16 pharmaceutical companies under “most-favored-nation” pricing deals tied to tariff exemptions. Participating companies include Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk, which the administration says are cutting prices on some GLP-1 weight-loss treatments. Officials have also highlighted discounts on inhalers, HIV treatments, diabetes drugs and fertility medicines.
