Trump warns Russia, China against selling arms to Iran

Trump said Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin gave direct assurances that weapons would not be sent to Tehran.

President Donald Trump warned Russia and China against selling weapons to Iran, saying the move would have very bad consequences for both countries. In a post on Truth Social on Friday, Trump also denied reports that Beijing and Moscow were already involved in supplying arms to Tehran. Trump said President Xi Jinping conveyed directly during their meeting in Beijing that China, including its companies, would not provide or sell weapons to Iran. He added that President Vladimir Putin gave a similar message. Trump said both leaders would stand by that commitment. Earlier, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also denied rumors that Russia and China were supplying weapons to Iran amid the conflict with the United States.
