President Donald Trump secretly left Turkey on a military C-32A in July after publicly boarding an older Air Force One, a deception operation tied to what The Washington Post described as a credible Iranian assassination threat. Trump had traveled to Ankara for the NATO summit on a newly renovated jet donated by Qatar, but aides shifted him by airport catering truck to the smaller aircraft after cameras captured him boarding the decoy plane. Reporters and some White House staff believed he remained on board the older jet, which flew to RAF Mildenhall in Britain. The White House did not dispute the account and said it uses every available measure to protect the president.
