Trump unveils Qatari-donated 747 for presidential fleet
What's new: The Air Force said the VC-25B will soon join the executive airlift fleet alongside the aging VC-25A and C-32 jets.
President Donald Trump unveiled a Boeing 747 donated by Qatar that is set to enter the presidential airlift fleet, as the White House also retired one of the two Air Force One planes that has carried presidents since 1990. ABC News reported Trump presented the aircraft at Joint Base Andrews on June 19. The Air Force said the plane, known as the VC-25B Bridge aircraft, has completed flight testing and will soon join the active executive airlift fleet with the VC-25A and C-32. The handover has drawn ethical, constitutional and security scrutiny because the aircraft was gifted by a foreign government and is intended for the ultra-sensitive presidential transport role.
