Trump shifts blame for Minnesota water cyberattacks to Walz

President Donald Trump blamed Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, not Iran, for cyberattacks that hit more than 30 community water systems in Minnesota, breaking with an active federal and state investigation into who was responsible. Speaking at a Cabinet meeting at Camp David on Friday, Trump called the state "grossly incompetent" as officials continued to probe whether Iranian hackers were involved. Minnesota IT Services said the attacks targeted operational technology, including programmable logic controllers used for remote access, on Sunday and Monday. Braham's well and treatment plant controls were temporarily shut down, while Plymouth and South St. Paul moved some functions to manual control. Officials said they saw no known threat to drinking water and no active requests for residents to change water use.
