U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged quietly switching planes on his way home from the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkiye, last month after Secret Service guidance amid threats from Iran. According to U.S. media reports later confirmed by Trump to reporters on Tuesday, he was moved from Air Force One to another military aircraft via a catering truck in a decoy operation. Trump said he was following Secret Service and military instructions, though he argued the replacement plane may have been more vulnerable because it was believed to be a target. The switch was initially kept secret by the White House until first reported by the Washington Post. The NATO trip was also the first international flight for the newly renovated Air Force One gifted by Qatar.
