Trump pushes out press secretary Katie Zacharia after 5 days
What's new: Her only briefing lasted under six minutes as questions mounted over claims about her legal credentials.
White House press secretary Katie Zacharia left the job Friday after just five days, ending one of the shortest high-profile tenures in the Trump administration. President Donald Trump told reporters outside the White House that he had urged Zacharia to reconsider whether the role was right for her, and a White House official later said she was transitioning out. Zacharia, a conservative commentator who had worked at Trump Media & Technology Group, faced criticism after a halting debut briefing Tuesday in which she took questions from only three reporters. She also drew scrutiny over describing herself as a lawyer despite never passing a bar exam, an issue raised in a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity.
