Trump pushed Musk to restore Starlink service in Ukraine, WSJ reports
What's new: The system was working more normally Thursday, and a Senate Democrat opened an inquiry into who degraded the service.
President Donald Trump asked Elon Musk to ease restrictions on SpaceX's Starshield service in Ukraine, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing U.S. officials. The military-grade satellite network, used by Ukraine in its war with Russia, was working more normally soon after Trump spoke to Musk by phone, U.S. and Ukrainian officials told the Journal. Trump declined to say whether he made the call, but told reporters, “The bottom line, he put it back.” The episode followed days of denials from Trump about any role in the slowdown. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, the top Democrat on a Senate homeland security investigations panel, opened an inquiry into how SpaceX technology was degraded for Ukraine without notice.
