Trump, Obama barnstorm battleground states in final midterm week
What's new: About 40 million ballots had already been cast before next Tuesday's voting, with control of the House and Senate at stake.
President Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama campaigned in key states Wednesday as both parties pushed to lift turnout in the final week before the US midterm elections. Trump rallied in Chillicothe, Ohio, with Sen. Jon Husted, while Obama appeared in Morrow, Georgia, to back Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff. Neither man is on the ballot, but each is being used to energize core voters ahead of contests that will decide all 435 House seats and 35 Senate seats. Nonpartisan analysts broadly favor Democrats to win the House, while the Senate remains highly competitive. The University of Florida's Election Lab said 40 million ballots had already been cast.
