Tim Curry dies at 80 after career spanning ‘Rocky Horror’ to ‘Clue’

What's new: Police found nothing suspicious at the actor's Los Angeles home, where he died after years of limited work following a 2012 stroke.

Tim Curry, the British actor whose flamboyant and villainous turns made him a cult favorite in films and on stage, has died at 80. ABC News reported that Grand Central, his publisher, confirmed his death, while Los Angeles police said officers responded to his home and found no suspicious circumstances. Curry was best known for playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” a role he first developed on the West End before reprising it in the 1975 film. He also played memorable parts in “Clue,” “Annie,” “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” and the TV adaptation of Stephen King's “It.” After a 2012 stroke, Curry largely shifted to voice acting and fan appearances.
