Thailand took the early lead in Group B of the Srikandi Merdeka Cup 2026 with three points, while the hosts remain without a point.
Thailand's U-16 girls opened the Srikandi Merdeka Cup 2026 with a 2-0 win over Indonesia Putri Nusantara at Supersoccer Arena in Kudus, Central Java, on Saturday. Thidarat Wiwasukhu's side took the lead in the 11th minute through a header by Miricah Shealagh Murdoch after Naura Airish Qaisara Rifaldhi's parry was not cleared. Indonesia tried to respond in the second half, including a chance for Indira Fatima in the 51st minute, but her shot was easily saved by Deenara Kordem. Thailand kept pressing until the 89th minute, when Withcayada Wanasin scored the second goal after receiving a pass from a teammate. The result puts Thailand top of Group B with three points, while Indonesia Putri Nusantara remain without a point.
