Swiss rout Bosnia 4-1 behind Manzambi's two goals
The 20-year-old became Switzerland's youngest World Cup scorer since 1950 and lifted the team to second place in Group B.
Switzerland beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1 in their Group B World Cup match at the Los Angeles Stadium, Inglewood, Friday, behind two late substitute goals from Johan Manzambi. Sent on in the 72nd minute, the 20-year-old scored in the 74th and 90th minutes, completing two other Switzerland goals from Ruben Vargas and Granit Xhaka. The performance earned Manzambi player of the match honors. According to FIFA, he became the youngest Swiss player to score at a World Cup since 1950, and the first Swiss player to score two goals as a substitute in the tournament. The victory moved Switzerland into second place in Group B with four points, behind Canada on goal difference. In their final match, Switzerland will face Canada at BC Place, Vancouver, Thursday (25/6) at 02.00 WIB.
