Karet Station to close starting Sept. 1, passengers rerouted
Commuter Line boarding and alighting will move to BNI City Station during integration work through the end of December 2026.
Karet Station in Jakarta will stop serving Commuter Line Jabodetabek passengers boarding and alighting starting Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026. The closure is for integration work with BNI City Station, scheduled to run through the end of December 2026. On the final day of operations, Monday, KRL service at the site was still running normally, with trains arriving about every five minutes. KAI Commuter is shifting all passenger operations to Sudirman Baru Station or BNI City. Passengers who usually use Karet Station can use the corridor access beside the station to reach BNI City. The integration is described as part of efforts to reorganize customer flow, strengthen operational safety and improve access in the station area, although some users have complained that the walking distance is now longer.
