Stack weighs APAC data center sale that could top $30 billion

What's new: AIP, Brookfield, IFM, KKR and DigitalBridge are among potential bidders as a formal process could start in July.

Stack Infrastructure is preparing a sale process for its Asia-Pacific data center portfolio that could begin as soon as July and value the assets at more than $30 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. Potential bidders include the Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Partnership, Brookfield Asset Management, IFM Investors, KKR and DigitalBridge, which is being acquired by SoftBank. The portfolio includes facilities in Tokyo, Osaka, Melbourne, Sydney and Johor Bahru. The interest underscores how AI-driven demand for computing capacity is pushing data centers to the center of dealmaking in Asia. Stack has been owned by Blue Owl Capital since last year, and deliberations remain preliminary.
