Son of former Mexico president says US revoked his visa

Andres Manuel Lopez Beltran, son of former Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, said the United States revoked his visa and called the move politically motivated. In a letter released Thursday to President Donald Trump, Lopez Beltran accused Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau of ordering the decision and said US authorities gave no evidence tying him to a crime. Lopez Beltran, 39, recently left a leadership post in the ruling Morena party and is preparing a 2027 run for Mexico's lower house from Tabasco. President Claudia Sheinbaum said Friday that US visa revocations targeting what Washington calls politically exposed persons were political because they were not applied equally across countries.
