The administrations of Solok Regency and Tanah Datar Regency agreed to keep order along their border area in West Sumatra amid public attention to the boundary issue. In a meeting at the Guest House of the Solok regent's residence on Saturday, Solok Regent Jon Firman Pandu and Tanah Datar Regent Eka Putra asked that the border dispute be handed to the central government through the Ministry of Home Affairs. They urged communication, coordination and deliberation to prevent friction in the community. Beyond the border issue, the two regions also backed a plan by Kodam I/Bukit Barisan to build a TNI battalion, saying it could strengthen security and support local economic growth. They also discussed potential development cooperation, especially in agriculture.
