SNLIK 2026: Indonesia financial literacy rises to 69.57%
Financial inclusion also climbed to 93.61%, while Islamic financial literacy edged down to 43.07%.
Badan Pusat Statistik, Otoritas Jasa Keuangan and Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan released the 2026 National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey, which recorded gains in public financial understanding and access. The national financial literacy index reached 69.57%, up from 66.64% in 2025. The financial inclusion index also rose to 93.61% from 92.74%.
BPS head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said the increase was driven mainly by conventional finance. On the other hand, Islamic financial literacy edged down to 43.07% from 43.42%. By region, literacy in urban areas reached 72.54%, higher than rural areas at 64.42%. For inclusion, urban areas stood at 95.47% and rural areas at 90.39%.
SNLIK 2026 used a sample across 38 provinces and 514 regencies and cities, with 75,000 respondents interviewed from 26 January to 18 February 2026.
