Singapore to add about 1,200 faster-built flats in Sin Ming, Toa Payoh

Why it matters: The projects target waits under three years and add housing in land-scarce mature estates.

Singapore is preparing about 1,200 Build-to-Order flats with waiting times of under three years in Sin Ming and Toa Payoh, with construction already underway on both projects. The larger Sin Ming Street development in Bishan will have 1,076 units plus a childcare center and supermarket. In Lorong 4 Toa Payoh, a 40-story HDB block will add 193 units, along with a multistory car park, roof garden and community facilities. National Development Minister Chee Hong Tat said launch dates and final waiting times will be released later. HDB said both sites are brownfield parcels being redeveloped to boost supply, part of a broader push to add homes in existing towns and shorten BTO waits.
