A Singapore court jailed Koh Teng Boo, 68, for three months after he set fire to cardboard shelters for community cats near his Bukit Batok home. Koh pleaded guilty to mischief by fire after burning cat houses at the void deck of Block 263 and a pavilion beside Block 261 on Bukit Batok East Avenue 4 in November 2025, after earlier torching three more in October. Prosecutors said he was upset that complaints to his MP about birds, pests and hygiene had not led to visible action. He left both November fires unattended; two passers-by extinguished one blaze. Jurong-Clementi-Bukit Batok Town Council spent S$913 repairing damaged flooring and walls, and Koh later made full restitution.
