Singapore man gets 9 months in fatal shove of 78-year-old attacker

A Singapore court sentenced Jimmy Yar Hock Long, 37, to nine months in jail after he pushed 78-year-old Goh Kim Inn to the ground during an attack on Yar’s father, a fall that led to Goh’s death two days later. The incident happened on May 25, 2025, at a pedestrian crossing at Upper Serangoon Road and Wolskel Road, where Goh struck Yar’s father on the head with an umbrella. Yar rushed at Goh and shoved him onto the pavement. Goh suffered a fractured skull, fell into a coma and died at Tan Tock Seng Hospital on May 27. Court filings said Goh and Yar’s father had a history of altercations and had both received police warnings in 2024.
