Singapore charged 1 woman, 8 men in sexual exploitation of 2 minors

Singapore courts charged a 20-year-old woman and eight men over the sexual exploitation of two girls who were both 16 at the time of the alleged offenses. Prosecutors accused the woman of recruiting one victim for exploitation, facilitating commercial sexual services for both girls and receiving S$1,435 tied to one victim's trafficking. Court records cited by Channel News Asia indicate the woman and one alleged victim lived in the same shelter. The eight men, aged 23 to 41, were charged with obtaining or attempting to obtain sex from one of the girls in February 2024, with alleged payments ranging from S$30 to S$150 at staircase landings, parked vehicles and a handicapped toilet. The woman is due to plead guilty on Sept. 14.
