Sinemart enters theatrical film business with animation 'Foufo'

Sinemart is entering the theatrical film business with “Foufo,” an animated feature scheduled for release on 9 July. At the unveiling of the teaser and poster in Senayan, Jakarta, executive producer David Setiawan Suwarto said Sinemart is still new to film and therefore partnered with Bayu Skak and Skak Studios as creative collaborators. Rather than choosing a safer genre, they took on a project about an alien spacecraft that crashes in Madura. David said the working process also changed, shifting from the fast pace of television series to more developed story development. Sinemart said the character research and conflict work by the Skak Studios team are strengths of the project. The film also recruited new acting talent from East Java through auditions. Sinemart hopes “Foufo” will do more than entertain and will also explore the difficulty of earning money and the effort to make parents happy.
