The Senate approved a sweeping Russia sanctions package Friday by an 86-11 vote, advancing a bipartisan bill meant to squeeze Moscow's energy revenues and strengthen US backing for Ukraine. The measure would target Vladimir Putin, Russian officials, financial institutions, energy projects and the shadow fleet of older tankers used to evade oil restrictions. It also would let President Donald Trump impose tariffs on major buyers of Russian oil and gas, including China and India, with exceptions for some countries reducing their reliance on Russian supply. The bill, named after the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, now goes to the House after more than a year of negotiations with the White House.
