Second Houthi strike hits Riyadh airport; toll from prior attack reaches 14

What's next: The Houthis warned airlines and passengers to avoid Saudi airports and airspace as attacks spread to Dammam and oil sites.

A second strike in two days hit King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Oct. 11, after a deadlier attack a day earlier killed 14 people and wounded more than 300, according to BBC footage and Saudi authorities cited by regional media. The Houthis in Yemen claimed both attacks and said they used ballistic and cruise missiles as well as drones. Saudi coalition forces said a projectile struck the airport, causing a fire, and that air defenses intercepted another missile near the capital. The group also claimed attacks on Dammam airport and oil facilities, and warned that Saudi airports and airspace remained targets, except those serving Mecca and Medina.
